Services are the most crowded part of any classifieds site and the easiest to stand out in, because most of the competition is interchangeable.
Name a price shape, even if you cannot name a price
"From ₹X for a standard job", "hourly plus materials", "free quote, typical job runs between X and Y". A reader who cannot tell whether you are in their budget does not enquire to find out — they enquire to the advertisement that told them.
Show finished work, not stock photography
Three or four photographs of jobs you actually did beats any amount of description, and a stock image is worse than no image because it says the opposite of what you want it to. Before-and-after pairs are the strongest single thing a trade listing can carry.
Be specific about where you work
Name the areas you cover and the ones you do not. A plumber who says "citywide" gets calls from an hour away and declines them; a plumber who names four neighbourhoods gets calls they want. Specific is not smaller — it is better targeted.
Write the one thing your competitors will not
Look at the ten listings above yours. They will almost all claim quality, experience and fair pricing, which means none of those words distinguishes you. What does: a guarantee with a length on it, a callout fee stated plainly, the fact that you turn up when you say you will and what happens if you do not.
Describe the jobs you want more of
A general listing gets general enquiries, most of which you will decline. If the work you actually want is bathroom refits rather than dripping taps, lead with bathroom refits. Narrowing the advertisement does not narrow your business; it changes which calls you get.
Keep one listing current rather than five stale ones
Reposting the same service five times is the commonest form of spam in this category, it is what moderators remove, and it does not work — a reader who sees the same listing three times trusts it less, not more. One listing, kept fresh, outperforms it.
Answer fast, and in writing
Most service enquiries go to whoever replies first with a real answer. Keep a short template for the three questions you always get, then add one sentence specific to what they asked.
If you are a business, say so
When you post here you can mark yourself as a business rather than a private seller. It is worth doing: buyers read it as a signal that you do this for a living, and in several countries a buyer's rights genuinely depend on which one you are.
List it in Services, or start a new listing.
